Cuba has some of the most well preserved marine and coastal ecosystems in the Caribbean… Not far from the main island, Gardens of the Queen, a string of jewel-like keys, hosts silvery fish that zip past banks of coral studded with colorful starfish, sea fans, and sponges… It's the same story when you see the Gardens of the King, to the north… To protect this vital diversity, Cuba has created the largest marine reserve in the Caribbean. Coral reefs are some of the richest ecosystems on Earth, and on many Caribbean coastlines, they are in danger of disappearing. But in this protected area in Cuba, the reef is wonderfully alive…. To learn how our coral reefs are protected, and what Cuba's doing to tackle climate change, we will talk with an expert that has seen it all in first hand, as she is a diver herself..... Hi, this is Cuba today. I am Cristina Escobar and you are listening to Radio Havana Cuba…
