The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games have been impacted by surprise and uncertainty in every possible way…. Starting with the fact that these are Tokyo 2020, taking place now in August 2021, as Covid delayed for a year an otherwise strict schedule… Then Japanese people marching on the streets against the Games, then the empty stands, and the quiet competitions which must have been quite hard for the athletes… The medal table, showing how each country performed, is led by the obvious names: the US, China and Japan, but surprisingly quite high, in the 14th spot, a small developing nation, among those of the first world, which have all the resources to train their sports people, there is Cuba, and it shines... An example of a country that demonstrates that political will, even in austere conditions, can make a difference....Hi, this is Cuba today.
