National and International news, with an update of COVID-19 epidemic in Cuba and around the world. In recent days, Cuba has sent a large contingent of the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade to South Africa to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Cuba has a long history of relations with South Africa -- from the struggle against the racist South African apartheid regime, to the special friendship between our leader Fidel Castro and South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela -- and of course, the thousands of Cuban troops who went to the aid of Angola to fight apartheid. Today, many South Africans are studying in Cuba, returning to their native land to apply their skills as technicians or doctors.
