Hi, this is Cuba today. I am Cristina Escobar and you are listening to Radio Havana Cuba… There are two way of seeing the link between Cuba and the United States… One way is politicians in suits, in closed offices, talking about memos and directives… Probably, one side defending a policy of aggression, the other side given clear proof that sanctions have harmed tremendously the Cuban people … But there is another perspective: two million Cubans live in the US, they have mothers, siblings or children in the other side of the Florida Strait, the majority left because of economic reasons… A lot of them do come back to visit, send money, care about their families in this side… But discussions on this regard are always very passionate, and politics can get on the way… For years, the consequence of the conflict has been the separation between the two sides, and when you do separate, you don’t get to fully understand the story in the other side… That’s why Bridges of Love is so important…
