Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has highlighted the joint effort of science and the government in the fight against COVID-19. In a message posted on his Twitter account, the diplomat said that 460 research projects on drugs, equipment and devices against the pandemic are supported by the preparation of a health system to which 27.5 percent of the state budget is allocated. Rodríguez added that science and the executive branch of the Caribbean nation have coordinated their actions to combat the COVID-19. At a recent meeting with researchers from prestigious scientific centres in the largest of the Antilles, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the contributions of this sector as indispensable to minimising the effects of the pandemic.
