US academic confirms that Trump's escalation against Cuba has been particularly hard on small-scale non-government tourism

Havana’s José Martí Journalism Institute is hosting the 14th international seminar ‘journalism and tourism’ with the attendance of journalists and social communicators from across Latin America and the United States. Among the event's highlights was a lecture entitled ‘over-tourism, the threat it poses to patrimonial sites sustainability and environmental fragility’ by Dr. Martha Honick, executive director of the Center for Responsible Travel in Washington DC. In statements to RHC journalist Isis María Allen, the US expert addressed over-tourism and how it could affect Cuba and the Trump Administration’s escalation against the Caribbean state.
