I am Cristina Escobar and you are listening to Radio Havana Cuba…Cuba is undertaking one of the deepest and most complicated changes of its economy… Since January 1st, the country eliminated one of its two circulating currencies, removed subsidies, and increased salaries, pensions and prices… Then in recent days it passed a major transformation in the private sector… What good could these initiatives bring in the foreseeable future? How are they impacting Cuban’s lives, to ask the simple question, that in the end, is what matters… are Cubans happier now?
