The draft of the new Code of Families in Cuba is entering the first phase of approval: it will be discussed in the Parliament’s session this month… The document has been updated 23 times, after specialized consults with different organizations… It is groundbreaking: bans child marriage under all circumstances, allows shared custody for the two parents, promotes equality among family members, and rejects any kind of discrimination within the household… And much more… It is hard to imagine that there is one Cuban family that is not protected, recognized in some way by this new Code… How are children and teenagers more protected by this Code of Families more than they were by the previous legislation?....Hi, this is Cuba today.
