Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Saturday evoked a statement by the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, who highlighted the importance of raising the workers' awareness for the progress of the revolutionary process. On his Twitter account, the president quoted a fragment of Fidel Castro's speech 54 years ago, when he closed the 12th Congress of the Cuban Workers' Confederation (CTC). 'The Revolution, first of all, had to win the awareness, and the workers' awareness was won for the Revolution to the same extent that the Revolution was, increasingly, the Revolution of the workers,' Fidel Castro said at the time.
