A massive fire like this was never seen before in this country…. Lighting struck a tank full of Cuban crude oil, igniting a fire that spread to another two tanks… The kind of news that you never want to watch or tell, the story that kept this entire country in shock, as we saw the flames in the sky, and the fumes miles away from the fire itself… It all happened in the biggest Supertanker base of Cuba, in the western city of Matanzas… The entire nation was in suspense until it was finally put out… Not without a huge cost. 14 firefighters died in the fire, probably in one of the explosions… A tragedy that now is unfolding as the search for the remains continues.
